Joey Beltram - Beltram Volume 2. They are obviously from the same source.
My 1991 original copy has seen better days and I wanted to own a brand new full length version without having to purchase an overpriced and more than likely a well overgraded scratched up supposedly VG+ or NM (in reality closer to G/VG grades sometimes even worse, in my experience, with bent covers due to poor flimsy mailers or insufficient protection.) If you're into vinyl mixing the above flaws obviously become a hindrance. In any case, couldn't they get their hands on the original sources? Whether one is a record DJ or not, collector, casual listener. People expect original, full length pressings not shoddy, clipped afterthoughts. What are they trying to do, compete with Trax Records' reputation for badly pressed edits, removed beats, badly sequenced quantisation. I didn't want this to be a rant but it's ended up like one :(
The only consolation is that the sound quality / mastering sounds generally fine, to my ears anyway. The original artwork design is always second to none. I've always appreciated R & S Records' surreal artwork. And I wanted to one of my favourite Techno record labels. Can't say I don't feel a little let down though. -

ittedly this piece of vinyl looks sexy AF - however BE AWARE THAT ALL TUNES HAVE INTROS CLIPPED / SHORTENED
I only found out by running my OG 1991 RS9104 copy side by side with this issue - really pissed off especially for The Melody as it unnaturally starts 2 beats into the beatless b line melody of The Melody... Christmas ruined. FACT. -

A 'Didn't know i had' find today. Extremely happy. All four tracks are awesome.
Mikael.bystrom's thriveless comment prior (Jan 2015), has no substance whatsoever. -

Stone cold classic from 91.
Big at Rage. Joey Beltram was a huge pioneer for early techno, this style soon morphed into early drum and bass.
Love this / love volume 1 /love Mentasm. -

The Melody. This tune always makes me think of Carl Cox and Mickey Finn at The Eclipse in Coventry. -

This must be the mid 90's repress? (I think 1995) -

Such a great pressing too, the sound is very loud and dynamic. Sublime future music from way back when -

1 star. Mediocre. Considering the flood of great tracks during this era and also considering Beltrams previously released "Energy Flash" in 1990 as well as his 91 remixes of Shamens "Move any mountain / Pro-Gen" (the best remix ever of that track) this is so uninteresting. -

All good tracks here. But my favourite track on this release is the mesmerising "The Melody" which is quite obviously inspired by Reese's "Just Want Another Chance" which also happens to be an absolutely fabulous track. Deep, dark and deliciously hypnotic is the order of the day here. Just like Mr. Beltram used to make them.
