Foreigner – Agent Provocateur

Nothing special im afraid. Thin flimsy jacket quality as poor as it gets. The pressing is abit noisy certainly compared to the MOV issue and the mastering doesnt do anything special either. I kinda wish i hadnt bothered with this one and just went for a NM og press

I think this is a solid pressing and album. Saw them on this tour. My first concert.

Picked up a good copy of this for $5. It was a hit for Foreigner with the single "I Want to Know What Love Is" being their only song to ever reach #1 in the USA and in the UK, but took them out of the "hard rock" camp into, dare I say, soft rock territory. I it being a guilty pleasure at a time when hair metal was king, but it has held up much better than I . It's worth revisiting and you can find a good copy for peanuts.

Spectacular dynamics! The level of detail on this vinyl is surprising! Never heard anything closer to this from other presses.

Ok pressing but a bit too trebley for me. Both sides suffer from inner groove distortion on the last song, vut maybe thats just my eliptical. That said, I don't usually have that problem

I have this exact version but unless I have numb fingers, which I do now and again, I have Parkinson's, but it is not an embossed cover.
The sound is superb and sounds really good on my Rega P7, I did have a uk.first press from back in 1984 but the standard of hifi gear I was using back then now cannot begin to compare to my current set up, so ......
Anyway, I'm sure you all know this is not the early guitar based version of Foreigner but Mick Jones' attempt, and very successful attempt too, at breaking into more laid back synthesizer aor scene of the mid 80s.You can still hear the Les Pauls but it's tricky. They took a lot of flack for this record at the time, if I recall correctly, which I do !!
It's only now, with benefit of 39 years that society has elevated that "song" with the gospel.choir to such heights. It was viewed as a cop out back then similar to The Cars and Heartbeat City, I think it was called. Very good sounding records but hardly rock and roll. Unlike both band's debut albums, right ?
To summise, a great sounding middle of the road aor album, which now I'm a little bit older and wiser , I love and appreciate the songs better than back in 1984.
But it ain't embossed, no way Jose.

For 2 quid at a car boot, a great sounding album!

Sounds great for the 9 bucks I paid for it!
